Lunch with a view – lightly salted cod and local beer served just steps from the Baltic shoreline at Siluett by the Sea.
A VISIT TO SILUETT BY THE SEA

March revealed its most generous side when we visited Siluett by the Sea – a beachfront restaurant just east of Trelleborg, where the Baltic Sea meets the sky and light filters softly through bare trees. It felt like the first summer day of the year. We sat outside in rolled-up sleeves, sun on our faces, with the beach stretching out before us.
The name Siluett is well chosen. Here, nature takes the lead and becomes part of the meal – a calm silhouette in the background of the plate and the conversation. The atmosphere is relaxed, dogs are welcome, and both the signage and interior balance Nordic simplicity with coastal warmth.
We ordered the lightly salted cod loin with Chablis sauce, served with roasted cauliflower and smooth potato purée. The cod was firm, juicy and delicately seasoned, and the sauce brought a perfect wine-acidity that elevated the dish. A golden, lightly bitter beer paired effortlessly with the sunlit moment.
After the main course, we lingered – drawn in by the view and the scent of freshly brewed coffee. It arrived with small pieces of homemade cake – a rich, dense chocolate square and another with caramelised nuts on top. No unnecessary frills, just honest indulgence with a sea view.
Siluett by the Sea is more than a restaurant – it’s a place you carry with you, and one that quietly invites you back. When spring sounds like laughter in glasses and the scent of salt and butter blends in the air, it’s hard to ask for more.

Although located in the south-western corner of Sweden, Siluett by the Sea appears here at the south-eastern edge of the map – nestled just outside Trelleborg. Malmö and Lund lie to the north, while Copenhagen stretches into view in the north-west.
